NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority has announced it is suspending some services ahead of Wednesday’s chances for severe weather.

On Wednesday, March 30, starting at 4 a.m., the RTA suspended all streetcar services and instead, will use buses along all streetcar routes.

Additionally, ferry operations running from Algiers Point to Canal Street have been canceled in anticipation of storms. Similar to streetcar services, buses will also be used to transport passengers from both locations.

The RTA adds ferry services for Chalmette-Lower Algiers have also been suspended due to increased winds.

Bus services have also been suspended over the Crescent City Connection to Algiers.

The following routes will cease service beginning at 3 p.m.:

  • #115- General DeGaulle/Tullis
  • #114- General DeGaulle/Sullen
  • #108- Algiers Local
  • #102- General Meyer
  • #101- Algiers Point

The Algiers Point-Canal Street ferry bus shuttle will cease operations as well.

Bus service along the No. 202-Airport Express has also been suspended.

Affected bus routes will be suspended until wind speeds reduce and service can safely resume.

RTA said riders should plan ahead for potential service interruptions.
