** UPDATE – As of Friday, June 19, the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals has deemed the towns water safe for use once again.

Mayor Wanda McCoy has lifted the boil order. “ I would like to thank our citizens for your patience and cooperation in this matter,” she said. “It is always better to err on the side of caution and have these things checked thoroughly to insure the safety of our community.”

Due to the necessity for repairs with the water supply system, as a precaution Mayor Wanda McCoy had issued  a boil water advisory last Tuesday for the town. Town repair crews worked diligently to repair the system and tried to assess, locate problem areas before they arise.

ROSELAND, LA – On Tuesday, the Town of Roseland sent out the following information regarding an immediate Boil Water Advisory.

“Due to experiencing the need for repairs in the water supply system, as a precaution Mayor Wanda McCoy is issuing a boil water advisory effective immediately.

Until this order is rescinded by the Town of Roseland, all  citizens are advised to boil water for at least 1 minute and allow the water to come to a rolling boil.

It is recommended to disinfect water before consuming water, brushing teeth and washing and using in food preparation.

The town will update citizens when the boil order will be lifted upon notification of the completion the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, Office of Public Health’s investigations of  the town’s water system.

The water will be deemed safe to use once it has been demonstrated the system to be safe and clear for the community by the State.

However , as of Tuesday, June 16^{th ,} the boil order will  remain in place until the State has notified the town of its suitability to use.”
