NORCO, La. (WGNO) – A Norco woman woke up at 4:15 this morning to a “birthday surprise” and a knock at her door. Two police officers were on the other side, but it wasn’t the ominous scene that you’d imagine.

The officers said they needed to borrow Rebecca Case’s car keys.

Apparently, a small alligator was lost in all the rain and chose Rebecca Case’s driveway as a place of refuge.

The officers, who Case described as very nice and helpful, can be seen in Case’s Facebook video wrangling the scared gator.

“Going to work this morning would’ve been very difficult,” Case says in the video as the officers work to capture the gator.

“Come on buddy, I’ve caught bigger boys than you,” says one of the officers.
