NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department began investigating a traffic fatality on Tuesday evening.
According to NOPD, the incident happened shortly before 8 p.m. on Interstate 10 East at I-510 South.
Police reported that a female pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene.
The report stated the driver of a 2017 Ford Fusion was traveling eastbound in the right lane of I-10 when they struck the victim while she was walking on the shoulder of the interstate.
The incident is still being investigated, no additional information is currently available.
