WGNO- The Tulane Green Wave football team is heading to Orlando for the Cure Bowl, Saturday December 15th, inside Camping World Stadium. The last time these two teams met in a bowl game was in 2013 in the New Orleans Bowl where the Ragin’ Cajuns won 24-21, but later the win was vacated due to NCAA recruiting violations. The Green Wave finished the 2018 regular season with a 6-6 record and tied for first place in the American Athletic Conference West Division at 5-3 with Houston. The Ragin’ Cajuns (7-6) were runner-up in the Sun Belt Conference Championship game against Appalachian State Saturday finishing the season with a 7-6 record.

“We’re very, very excited to be the 12th team in 125 year history of Tulane University to qualify for a bowl game,” said Tulane Head Football Coach Willie Fritz. “This will be the first time since 2002 that a Tulane team has ventured outside of the state of Louisiana to play in a bowl game. I’ll admit it, I was a little partial to get into that Cure Bowl. I think it’s an excellent bowl with a lot of things for our young men to be able to do during the time that we’re going to be there.”
