New Orleans (WGNO) – It’s official Buddy Hield and Chiek Diallo are going to be playing at the Smoothie King Center. They’re joining the New Olreans Pelicans and we decided to ask people around town, how they feel about Number 6!
“Buddy Hield and Chiek Diallo are coming to the Pelicans,” asked WGNO Anchor Jacki Jing
“Man, you’ve got to be kidding me – are you serious?” said Pelicans Fan Jarred Scott.
“First of all, I do like the name, ‘Buddy’. Now he’s a buddy to New Orleans!” said Pelicans Fan Pastor Tom Watson.
“Tell me, how excited are you?” asked Jing.
“I’m excited, man, he’s a beast!” said Pelicans Fan Brandon Dykes.
“He’s a big guard, he can score and he rebounds. I think it will be a good addition to the Pelicans,” said Pelicans Fan Richard Douglas.
“I am a huge Pelicans fan! We are so excited to have Buddy Hield and we welcome him to the Crescent City! GO PELICANS!” said Pelicans Fan Lisha Magee.
“What does he need to do when he gets into town, what’s the one New Orleans thing that he has to do?” asked Jing.
“Come to Walk Ons (laughs) They got good food, man!” said Dykes.
“The cuisine is number 1 and as an athlete, they have to be careful. I want to warn him, enjoy the food, but don’t eat too much,” said Pastor Watson.
“Of course got to Mother’s. That’s the welcome place, where we welcome everyone – and probably hit up the river!” said Magee.
“They have to go to Café Du Monde, they don’t go there and you’re missing out on the best part of New Orleans and get you a hand grenade too!” said Scott.
“What should he do? I would say go down to Audubon Zoo, check out City Park – little things like that – go out on the lake front.. You know New Orleans is a beautiful city. It’s a beautiful city, there are plenty of things to do,” said Douglas.
