NEW ORLEANS — ESPN’s Senior NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted Sunday morning that the National Football League will be adding another game to its regular season schedule.

According to Schefter, the NFL is expected to add a 17th game to the regular season.

The current 16-game format has been in place since the league expanded from 14 in 1978.
