LSU women’s basketball advances to Elite 8, first time since 2008

GREENVILLE, S.C. (BRPROUD) — The No. 3 LSU women’s basketball team beat the Utah Utes 66-63 and will advance to the Elite 8. The Tigers haven’t played in the Elite 8 since 2008.

At halftime, LSU trailed Utah 33-29.


LSU’s LaDazhia Williams led the Tigers with 24 points, followed by Angel Reese with 17 and Alexis Morris with 15. Reese also recorded 12 rebounds on the day.

Utah’s Gianna Kneepkens led the Utes with 20.

The first Elite 8 game is scheduled for Sunday, March 26.
