Voodoo Athlete of the Week: Shaw’s Trey Ragas

(WGNO) – Against Higgins he was a one man wrecking crew.

Shaw running back Trey Ragas carried 31 times for 272 yards and six touchdowns in a win over L.W. Higgins. Ragas also added a two point conversion.

“I felt good about it. But I have to give the credit to my playmakers, my offensive line and my QB Matt Keller,” Ragas said.

Ragas is only a junior. His coach expects him to be one of the top players in the state in the class of 2016.

“I think he could be really good because he has the size. When he gets in the open, they haven`t been catching him. He is really tough to tackle, he carries, he doesn’t take a lot of big shots, and he’s going to get bigger. I really think he’s going to be a 220 pound back in college,” Coach Scott Bairnsfather said.
