Voodoo Athlete of the Week: Jesuit senior QB Trey Laforge

(WGNO) – Jesuit senior quarterback Trey Laforge was on his game against archrival Holy Cross.

Laforge completed 14 of 18 passes for 236 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also ran for a touchdown.

Jesuit Coach Mark Songy said, “as Trey goes the team goes.”

The Jays are doing well. Jesuit has reeled off 5 straight wins. Three times scoring at least 49 points.

Songy thinks Trey will start attracting more interest from colleges. “His stats are really good right now. I think he’s about 1,300 yards, and we are winning a lot of ball games, and he’s throwing to some pretty good receivers. Some college type receivers, I think. I am surprised, but I think that is going to pick up.”

Laforge said he has improved from his junior to his senior seasons.

“I think a lot. Just experience, you know, from a junior to a senior. The most is just experience, getting to know the game better,” said Laforge.

Jesuit quarterback Trey Laforge is this week’s New Orleans Voodoo athlete of the week.
