(WGNO) – It was a nail bitter for Mandeville fans Friday during the state playoff game against the Jesuit Blue Jays.
The Skippers were down 39-36 in regulation play when a missed free throw by Jesuit landed the ball in the hands of Mandeville’s Torico Jones. Though he was well guarded, Jones sank a 3-pointer with 5 seconds remaining, forcing the game to head into overtime.
The all-or-nothing shot became the catalyst for the Skippers to sail through overtime and top the Blue Jays for a 61-46 win.
