NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Local football great Delvin Breaux will host a first-ever ‘Football and Mental Health Awareness’ camp at Jefferson Indoor Sports in Harahan, La. on Saturday, Feb. 18.

The McDonogh 35 standout cornerback played for the New Orleans Saints from 2015-2017, and was voted defensive MVP by the fans in his first season with the team.

Breaux, who recently authored his autobiography UnBreauxKen, was also a two-time Canadian Football League All-Star and recently retired following the 2022 season with the B.C. Lions.

The camp will feature two sessions, the first for ages 5-11 from 9am to noon, and a second for ages 12-18 from 2-5pm.

Competition activities include:

  • 40-yard Dash
  • One-on-ones
  • Punt, Pass, Kick & more

Food, live music, autograph sessions and photos will all be available.

Check-in begins at 8:30 a.m.

Cost is $25 per child.

Breaux popped in to the Sports Zone on Wednesday to talk about the camp, his autobiography, as well as share his thoughts on Sean Payton’s hire as the new head coach in Denver, and Derek Carr’s decision to pass on New Orleans.
