Tigers move in 2nd place in SEC with win at Auburn

METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) – There was no Oklahoma hangover for the LSU basketball team.

LSU beat Auburn Tuesday night 80-68, three days after the Tigers lost a heartbreaker at home to the top ranked Sooners.

LSU shot 53 percent from the field, making 11 consecutive field goals at one point. Ben Simmons led the Tigers with 21 points, 13 rebounds, and 7 assists. Simmons had 17 points and 9 rebounds in the first half.

Craig Victor scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds as the Tigers, 7-2 in the SEC and 14-8 overall, moved into sole possession of second place in the league.

LSU led by as many as 21, 70-49.

LSU hosts Mississippi State Saturday evening.
