NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – An Ohio man took to Twitter yesterday afternoon to show off his brand new tattoo proclaiming the Cleveland Indians the “2016 Champs.”

By midnight, it was clear he thoroughly regretted his permanent mistake as the Chicago Cubs took home their first World Series championship in 108 years after 10 innings and a rain delay.

“Some call it bold, but I call it faith in Kluber” Twitter user Mike Neero wrote in a tweet showing off his new ink that he posted at 4:16 p.m. on November 2.

The tattoo, featuring Indians mascot Chief Wahoo above the ill-fated championship declaration next to the logo of the Cleveland Cavaliers, who actually did win a championship this year.

For his part, Neero seems to be taking the misguided tattoo in stride. He has spent all day posting his favorite reaction tweets and images, which include a photoshopped image of a crying Michael Jordan.

That’s certainly one way to become a meme.
