Dr. Phil McGraw apparently isn’t upset he didn’t get the highly anticipated interview with Bruce Jenner regarding his rumored gender transition. According to him, he thinks Jenner is too old for this whole situation.

The doctor appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Wednesday (April 22) where he was asked if he wishes he scored the two-hour Jenner special that will air on Friday instead of Diane Sawyer.

“It would be boring to talk to me about that,” McGraw says. “First off. I would say, ‘Look if it’s what you want to do, do it. I mean, what the hell does it matter what anybody else thinks?'”

Although McGraw is supportive of Jenner’s decision, he doesn’t hesitate to make a joke about Jenner’s age.

“That’d be the first 30 seconds and then I guess we’d spend the next hour and 59 minutes saying, ‘You’re almost 80, what’s the point?’ This is a theoretical exercise, right?”

McGraw then steps in it further by going down the path where gender identification and sexual orientations are one and the same. “He’s kind of past prime for [cringe] … right?”

For his part, Kimmel points out he considers the Olympian — who, for the record, is 65, one year older than McGraw — to still be in his prime.

“You know he’s an Olympic gold medalist so I wouldn’t put anything past him,” Kimmel says. “I mean, he may be a champion in the bed as well.”
