Video: NOPD officer doing the wobble at Night Out Against Crime event

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WGNO) — The National Night Out Against Crime brings together neighbors to discuss their crime problems and worries as well as provides a way for them to get to know one another.  They spend time with one another and police officers from the area.  It’s generally a good time.

The Night Out is marked across the nation in August.  But the New Orleans area waits until October to get a break from the sweltering temps.

Along with all the crime fighting and game planning, the events usually include food, drinks, and an occassional band or live music.

All were present during the National Night Out event at the Sojourner Truth Community Center Tuesday night.  But one NOPD officer may have bonded better with neighbors — not by what he said or promised — but rather by how he moved.

The officer joined the crowd to do the wobble to the music.  He’s just the latest NOPD officer to show he or she has moves on the dance floor along with those used to catch the bad guys.
