Three things fantasy football players should know about Sunday’s Saints-Panthers match-up

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The Saints return to action Sunday at the Superdome for a high-noon matchup with division rivals the Carolina Panthers.

Each team is sitting on just one win this season, making it a must-win for both squads.

Here are three things you need to know about the game, courtesy of our favorite sideline reporter Jennifer Hale:

-Saints running back Mark Ingram has already tallied 44 fantasy points this season. Now that defenses will be accounting for fullback John Kuhn given his performance in San Diego – watch for Ingram to explode!

-Everyone knows how much Drew Brees loves to spread the ball around, so no surprise the Saints sport three receivers within just a few fantasy spots of one another. Brandin Cooks has 37 fantasy points on the season; Willie Snead – 36 points, and rookie draft pick Michael Thomas, 33. The Panthers secondary is thin – especially if cornerback James Bradberry is still sidelined with turf toe. It could be a big day through the air for the Saints.

-Finally- will Cam Newton and running back Jonathan Stewart return for the Panthers after sitting out Monday Night Football? Last year, Newton and Stewart combined to represent 71 percent of the Panthers’ run game and 84 percent of the rushing touchdowns.

Good luck with your leagues everyone!
