The holidays are here and so are package thieves

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The holiday shopping season is underway.  You can find all kinds of sales online.  Who needs Black Friday or Cyber Monday, right?

Package thieves are also showing they’re ready for a busy holiday shopping season.  In fact, the NOPD released surveillance footage from three cases just from the last couple weeks of October.  The thefts are the latest cases to roll in the Wheel of Justice.

The most recent case, at this point, happened on October 26 on the front porch of a home in the 7700 block of Cohn Street in the Carrollton area.  Police say a man who is seen stealing three packages in a surveillance video clip may also be responsible for other similar thefts.

The two other cases happened in Algiers.  At this point, police have not connected them.  But they have released surveillance footage that shows packages being taken from homes in the 5900 block of Brighton Place and the 2900 block of Danbury Drive.  The thefts occurred on October 20 and 13 respectively.

If you can help solve any of the cases in this latest Wheel of Justice report, call CrimeStoppers at 504-822-1111.  You don’t have to reveal your name or testify in court to collect a cash reward.

So far, more than 320 people have been booked after their cases rolled on the Wheel of Justice.
