NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — New Orleans police say they worked with Louisiana State Police troopers to quickly arrest a suspect after a morning bank robbery in the CBD.

Police say it happened at the Capital One located at 313 Carondelet Street.

They say that at about a quarter to 11:00 in the morning on July 1, a man walked into the bank and handed a note to the teller.  Police say the note said that the robber had a gun and he wanted money.

The teller complied then notified police as the robber was making his getaway.

Police say an officer on patrol in the area quickly spotted the suspect based on the description given to police by bank workers.  A chase followed and state troopers also converged on the area.

The suspect is identified as 26-year-old Daniel Clukin.  Police say he was arrested at the intersection of Union and O’Keefe.

The FBI will be the lead investigating agency in the case.
