PLAQUEMINES PARISH, La. (WGNO) – Amos Cormier has been elected to follow in his late father’s footsteps as Plaquemines Parish president.
Cormier, a Republican, defeated fellow Republican Kirk Lepine with 3,549, or 57 percent of the vote.
Cormier is the son of Amos Cormier Jr., the former Plaquemines Parish president who died in June while in office.\
