Louisianians Live On Planet Fantasia Where There Are FREE Lunches

George Carlin once remarked that he did not complain about politicians because Americans produce that class in their own image or as Carlin put it “garbage in, garbage out”. While I would argue that Carlin’s maxim does NOT apply to current Bayou State governor Bobby Jindal I would say it most certainly applies to the citizens who elected him.

A new poll shows that only 38% of Louisianans approve of the job(1) Jindal is doing and simultaneously LOVE the jobs President Obama & NOLA Mayor Mitch Landrieu are doing. I have to wonder what planet these people are living on!? A closer look at the poll questions & answers shows that planet to be: Fantasia, where there actually ARE free lunches and pots of gold at the end of rainbows.

Citizens expressed outrage that Jindal can’t figure out a way to make LSU “free” for all who wish to attend. In the next breath they huffed and puffed over the fact that Jindal cannot make medical care “free” either.  Apparently Louisianans have drunk kegs of the Obama Kool-aid that makes these things possible on Fantasia.

Now don’t get me wrong, I have a list of Jindal miscues as long the NOPD’s unsolved murder cases but I actually applaud his efforts to privatize Charity Hospital. Of course I define charity as something that Christian citizens do NOT what their governments do. Ditto that sentiment for Jindal’s effort to commit the public outrage of restoring the citizens choice in where to send their kids to schoo. Over half of the poll respondents want nothing to do with that kind of responsibility. Schools are, after all, you know…public. Mere mortals cannot possibly run them efficiently.

There is good news for Governor Jindal though, he will only have to endure sniping from government-drunk-citizens for another 2 years, while the rest of us remain prisoners of the Fantasia Kool-Aid production company.
