BOGALUSA, La. (WGNO) — The campus of Bogalusa High School is all clear after being evacuated due to two possible threats made Friday afternoon.

Students, faculty, and staff were escorted out of the building by the Bogalusa Police Department at about 1:30 p.m. after receiving a call reporting a possible shooting threat made to the school.

Acting immediately, officers arrived to begin assessing the situation and while on the scene, an additional threat was made indicating a bomb was on campus. Bogalusa police sent out an advisory, alerting residents to stay away from the area.

Officers performed the proper measures and found no presence or evidence of a shooter or bomb.

The Police Department reassures the public that threats of this magnitude are taken very seriously and investigations will be carried out as such.

Bogalusa High School released a statement on Facebook thanking the Bogalusa Police Department, city officials, the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, Rayburn Correctional, and the Louisiana State Police for quickly responding to the threat made against the school.
