PLAQUEMINES PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A levee is beginning to overtop in the Braithwaite area of Plaquemines Parish according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The area is near the Parish line and White Ditch. Another challenge for the area is water is being pushed in on the opposite side that is not protected by a levee.
Leaders are urging residents in Braithwaite to get to higher ground immediately.
