NEW ORLEANS — The City of New Orleans firefighters broke ground on their new Union Hall on Wednesday.

Their old hall in Mid-City was destroyed during Hurricane Katrina.

The firefighters have been renting office space in Algiers since then. They say they’re happy to have a permanent home to grow.

Construction is expected to be completed in January 2022.
