NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A search is underway for a truck that police say was involved in a fatal crash near the New Orleans Fairgrounds on Sunday (Oct. 2) evening.

Early reports from the NOPD say officers were called to the 2600 block of Paris Avenue just before 7:30 p.m. Investigators say a man was crossing the street when he was struck by a vehicle and died at the scene. The victim’s identity has not yet been disclosed.

Other details surrounding the crash were not immediately available in the initial stages of the investigation. We’re told the NOPD is looking for a dark-colored pick-up truck with tinted windows in connection to the case.
