Thibodaux, La. -(WGNO)- The Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Thibodaux man that they say beat a woman that he had a relationship with and held her against her will for more than 20 hours.

Deputies were called to a Thibodaux home around 9:45 a.m., Tuesday to investigate a domestic disturbance.

In the course of the investigation, they learned that the woman had gone home for lunch on Monday when she discovered 49-year-old Jamie Scarbrough standing outside of her house.

Detectives say that Scarbrough entered the home and held the victim against her will throughout the night while armed with a knife.

They also say that the victim tried to escape at some point in the early hours of Tuesday morning, but was caught by Scarbrough and hit in the face and body.

The victim was eventually able to flee the home and call for help.

Deputies were able to make contact with Scarbrough by phone and he eventually agreed to leave the house and was taken into custody without incident.

Scarbrough is charged with felony Domestic Abuse and False Imprisonment. He is also being held on probation and parole violations.
