WILMINGTON, N.C. (WGNO) – The owners of five French Quarter bars famous for their hand grenades and grenades are suing a North Carolina bar for trademark infringement – again.

The Triangle Business Journal reports that four years ago, the owners of Bourbon Street Wilmington bought large amounts of Tropical Isle’s Hand Grenade mix and cups, then sold the drinks at their North Carolina establishment.

Tropical Isle issued a cease-and-desist letter and settled with the bar for trademark infringement.

The lawsuit claims that Tropical Isle takes in millions of dollars every year from the popular tourist drinks.

Tropical Isle now claims in a new lawsuit that the Louisiana-themed bar in North Carolina is once again selling grenades under the name “grenade shots.”
