NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – New Orleans police are investigating a shooting that injured a 2-year-old girl Monday evening in Treme.

Police say the girl was playing outside with other children and adults in the 1100 block of Governor Nicholls Street when an unknown man approached and fired two shots. The suspect then fled northbound on Gov. Nicholls around 9 p.m.

A 2-year-old girl was hit in the leg and has been transported to the hospital.
