METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — LSU fans, you’re getting an extra home game this year, only it won’t entirely be a home game.  The South Carolina Gamecocks will play in Baton Rouge due to flooding in their home state.  So it will be treated as a home game for USC.

For starters, that means that USC’s fight song and alma mater will be played over the loud speakers.  Also, LSU will wear road jerseys, and all of the profits from ticket sales will go to the Gamecocks.

If you’d like to see the game, tickets are available at www.lsutix.net.   Anyone who has a suite or club seat will be able to select the same seat they usually have.  If you’re a regular season ticket holder, you can get the best available seat.  Those tickets are on sale now and will be through 5 p.m. on Thursday.  As of 6 p.m. Thursday, ticket sales will open to the general public.

Student tickets are also currently on sale for $5.

The tickets will have to be printed by the purchasers using a computer.  Also, currently LSU plans to rope-off two sections of Tiger Stadium.  LSU’s athletic department expects no more than 2,000 USC fans to be in attendance.

The traffic plan will be the same as for previous games.

“We want our fans to really make them feel at home.  We hope our fans come out and support this game,” LSU Athletic Director Joe Alleva told reporters on Wednesday.

The traffic plan will remain the same as previous games, and roughly the same number of security workers are expected to be on the job.  But only about 75% of concession stand workers will be there, so LSU will allow each ticket holder to bring in one bottle of water to help reduce the demand for drinks.

Game time is 2:30.  While many accommodations will be made to make the game feel like a home game for USC, the field will not be painted for them.

LSU says game goers can use their Western Kentucky parking passes on Saturday.  But the same parking passes will be required on October 24 when Western Kentucky comes to play the Tigers in Baton Rouge, so do not throw away the parking pass after this Saturday’s game.

“Our fans and our groups that work for all our games are on board to make this a great experience,” Brian Broussard, Assistant AD of Ticket Operations said.

There was no information as of Wednesday afternoon regarding which network will televise the game.

Les Miles says he will have his team ready to play on Saturday.  He says the Tigers will have no problem being good hosts and serious competitors, too.

“This is a member institution of the SEC.  We’ll do everything we can to make sure they’re given every home team advantage,” Miles said.
