NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Add New Orleans to the list of cities that make the best rum in the world.
Celebration Distillation’s Old New Orleans 20th Anniversary King Creole is the top-rated rum in the United States by the Beverage Testing Institute. Founder James Michalopoulos says only two other rums, both from other countries, were rated higher. That makes King Creole one of the highest-rated rums in the world.
Celebration Distillation is also the oldest rum distillery currently operating in the country. Michalopoulos has been making rum for more than 20 years.
