MANDEVILLE, La. — The temporary memorial for a slain Mandeville police officer has been removed and a permanent memorial is on the way.

The State Department of Transportation (DOTD) is working on a permanent memorial instead where friends, family and other people can honor Captain Vince Liberto, who was shot and killed during a police chase in 2019.
