Suspect wanted in armed carjacking on Freret St.

NEW ORLEANS(WGNO)-The NOPD has obtained an arrest warrant for Talmadge Scott, in connection with an armed carjacking in the 2900 block of Freret Street, occurred on May 29, 2016.

At about 1:53 a.m., Sixth District officers were dispatched to the area in response to a call of an armed carjacking. When officers arrived, the victim said she had parked her vehicle, a Nissan Maxima, in front of her friend’s house and was waiting to meet up with her friend when two unknown black males approached the vehicle from behind.

The victim said the pair then demanded that she and the two passengers inside the car exit and turn over their personal belongings. The suspects then approached the friend who was coming out of her house and demanded her cell phone.

After all four victims complied, the suspects left the scene in two vehicles, including the Nissan Maxima. The suspect driving the Nissan Maxima fled toward Louisiana Avenue, while the second suspect fled in an unknown vehicle toward Washington Avenue.

One of the suspects was described as a black male with a dark complexion, about 20 years old, standing 5’9” with a thin build, short hair, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black baseball cap and armed with an unknown handgun.

The second suspect was described as a black male about 20 years old, standing 5’10” with a thin build, short hair and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood closed tight around his face.

Through investigation, Sixth District detectives were able to determine that Scott is one of the suspects involved in this incident. The second suspect remains unidentified at this time.
