COVINGTON, LA (WGNO) — The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office says one of its deputies was injured in an accident Thursday afternoon, Feb. 25th.
Deputies say it happened in Covington on Columbia Street. They say a car made an illegal left turn in front of Deputy Joshua Feraci as he was on duty and riding his patrol motorcycle.
They say Feraci went in for surgery on his leg and arm the following afternoon on Friday.
Deputies also say, as warmer weather arrives with spring, more people may be riding motorcycles on the streets. They’re reminding drivers to keep their eyes on the road at all times while driving.
