NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The City of New Orleans is going to start shutting off water to customers who are behind on their bills.

According to the Sewerage and Water Board, customers with overdue balances will have 10 days after receiving their disconnect letter to either pay the balance in full or set up a payment plan.

The city had ceased shutoffs during the height of the pandemic, but will resume starting July 21.
