Due the to the threat of severe weather on Thursday, April 18, the following schools have announced closures.
We will be updating this list as more information comes in.
School closures:
Jefferson Parish schools will have a half-day schedule– the buses will roll and school lunches will be served–but after that, the rest of the day’s school schedule, including after-school activities, are cancelled.
- All KIPP Schools in Orleans Parish will close at 1 p.m.
- Louisiana Schools for the Deaf and Visually Impaired
- Northlake Christian School
- Paul Habans Charter School in Algiers will dismiss at noon
- All Algiers Charter Schools will dismiss early
- UNO closing after 2pm
- All ARISE Schools schools will dismiss early
- All FirstLine Schools will dismiss early
- Cypress Academy, McDonogh 35, and Edgar P Harney will dismiss at noon
- All Catholic schools in the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux
- Livingston Parish Public Schools
- West Feliciana Parish Schools
- St. Tammany Parish Public Schools
- All YEP programming, after school enrichment, YEP Works, & adult education in Orleans and St. Charles Parishes
- St. Tammany Parish Catholic Schools
- Zachary Christian Academy
- Zachary Community School District
- Bethany Christian School
- St. Helena Parish Schools
- Southland Christian Academy
- Southeastern Louisiana University
- Nicholls State University
- Louisiana State University
- St. Bernard Parish Schools
- Tangipahoa Parish Schools
- Washington Parish Catholic Schools
