BATON ROUGE (WGNO) – Five people were hurt in a fire at the Exxon refinery on Scenic Highway Tuesday afternoon, WBRZ reports.

Firefighters, EMS workers and other first responders were called to the refinery about 4 p.m. The fire was extinguished, but four out of the five people injured in the fire were taken to the burn unit at Baton Rouge General Hospital, according to WBRZ.

The fire involved isobutane, a colorless gas that can have a faint petroleum-like smell.  It is used in refrigeration systems and as a propellant in aerosol sprays.
