Office of Motor Vehicles to stop accepting cash payments

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Beginning tomorrow, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles will no longer accept cash payments.

Debit cards, credit cards, checks, money orders, and cashier’s checks will be accepted for all driver’s licenses, identification cards, mobility impaired tag transactions, and vehicle transactions.

For reinstatement transactions, debit cards, credit cards, money orders, and cashier’s checks will be accepted, but not checks.
