DENHAM SPRINGS, La. — President Barack Obama landed in Baton Rouge Tuesday shortly before noon. He’s expected to tour flooded areas in the state before delivering a statement.

While in Louisiana, he is also scheduled to meet with relatives of three law enforcement officers who were killed in an ambush style attack last month, a source with knowledge of the President’s plan said.

Two police officers and a sheriff’s deputy were killed, and three other officers were wounded in an ambush in a shooting in Baton Rouge on July 17. The shooter, Gavin Long, eventually was shot and killed by police that day, authorities say.
