NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Fire Department is remembering the losses from Katrina and celebrating the recovery made.
A Katrina Memorial Pin can be purchased from NOFD for $5.
The pins are a fundraiser by the department to pay for equipment and uniforms for the firefighters.
The department has also created a “Katrina 10 Year Service Pin.” Those pins will be presented to as a commendation to those members that served during the NOFD’s response to the hurricane and are still with the department 10 years later.
