NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)- Women from all over the country will be coming to New Orleans this weekend for FestiGals—the annual women’s empowerment and enjoyment weekend, with presentations, speakers, and so much more!

For the enjoyment part, our own News with a Twist Reporter, Kenny Lopez is one of the FestiGuys—a brand new, all-male dance troupe!

Move over, “Magic Mike”, there’s an all-male dance troupe in town, with moves that are raising the temperature as hot as a New Orleans summer day!

“We tried to create a New Orleans dance troupe that’s part Chippendales and part 610 Stompers,”  Vatican Lokey, FestiGuys choreographer, said.

Lokey’s Cabaret Sauvignon dance group has also created an original cabaret to close out FestiGals.  Their performance will be at Muriel’s in Jackson Square.

The FestiGuys will be stomping into the FestiGals hearts this weekend, as part of the women empowerment festivities.

“They’ll be performing at our Bodacious Bras for a Cause luncheon, which raises money for cancer survivors.  We’re excited to have this new element this year.  The FestiGuys,”  Sandra Dartus, FestiGals Liaison said.

Let’s meet the dancing dudes.  There’s Joshua Brewer, Colin Sternhell, Michael Scott, Chris Baker, and Twist Reporter Kenny Lopez.

“I’m the baby of the group,” Brewer said.

“I bring the love and emotion.  I’m bigger than the other guys, so I bring the action,” Sternhell said.

“I’m the actor of the group, so naturally, I’m the biggest ham,” Scott said.

Baker said, ” I bring the sunshine and rainbows to FestiGuys.”

Lopez said, “Well, then I bring the lightning and the thunder.”

Don’t call us the thunder from down under because we are New Orleanians to the core.

“Our hope our performance makes their hearts skip a beat,” Baker said.

“The FestiGuys are a fun way of saying, you know what ladies, thanks for everything you do, here’s a little something for you,”  Lokey said.

In addition to this heart-thumping dance group, you can also hear the inspirational speaker, Dayna Steele on Friday.  Then on Saturday, the ‘Soul Queen of New Orleans’, Irma Thomas will reign as Grand Diva for the Stiletto Stroll down Canal Street at 8 p.m.

The FestiGuys will make their debut performance at the FestiGals Bodacious Bras for a Cause luncheon & Auction on Saturday afternoon at  11:30-1:45 at the JW Marriott.
