BUSH, La. (WGNO) – Nanette Me’Shell King’s co-workers are waiting for her return.

One told us off-camera, “I love Mimi very much. We miss her very much. I’ll never give up until I definitely know that she’s not coming back.”

Captain George Bonnett of the St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office is hoping for a helpful tip from the public.

There have been search teams of all kinds, including an independent underwater search and recovery team. Bonnett says there have been deputies on foot, on 4-wheelers, in boats and flying in helicopters.

But the only progress made so far is determining some of the places where the 42-year-old is not.

“One of the challenges with this one is the area that we’re searching. It’s a rural area. She lived in Bogalusa, worked in Bush so, looking at the area between there and the routes that she would normally take, there’s a lot of land up there.”

Co-workers described the disappearance as “crazy” and say King was fine when she left work.

“We don’t know what to think. We just want her found and brought back. We really miss her a lot,” one co-worker said, catching her breath.

It was one in the afternoon—broad daylight—when King left work.

She is 5’4” and was wearing a purple work shirt. She was driving silver, 2006 Mitsubishi Gallant. She has colorful tattoos on her upper chest.

“She is a very outgoing, very nice wonderful soul, she just does anything for anybody and cares about everybody and loved her job,” says one co-worker.

Another sent out this plea, “If anybody sees her or knows anything, please let the police and the detectives know so she can come back.”
