NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu was serving up District Donuts, Wednesday, in the company’s “streat-car”. The event was a fundraiser to support area foster kids.
“One of the ways to have a city of peace is to have a child who has a place to go. Has someone who loves them and can raise them in a way that allows them to realize their potential,” said Landrieu. “Foster care kids are really the forgotten ones. So, I’m really thankful we are highlighting them today because their lives are very important to us and they just need a lot of help.”
