Man shoots alleged burglar, gets arrested. Here’s why…

MONTZ, LA (WGNO) — Saint Charles Parish deputies say they arrested a man for a list of charges after responding to a burglary in progress.

It happened in the 100 block of Church Hill Downs in Montz.  According to deputies, a man who lived at the home and another, identified as 35-year-old Chad Lloyd Guillot of Destrehan, arrived at the home and found confronted another man, identified as Daniel Villa, who did not have permission to be at the home.  It happened at about 3:30 Tuesday morning, June 28.  Deputies say they were also contacted about a burglary in progress.

Deputies say Villa had a gun and tried to get away from the scene, but when he tried to drive away, he was shot by Guillot.  They say Villa’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Then during the investigation, they say they found more than four grams of Methamphetamine inside Guillot’s car.  After additional investigation, Guillot was booked with attempted murder, felon in possession of a firearm, possession with intent to distribute Meth, and other charges.
