NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Employees at North Shore tanning salons are on alert. The St. Tammany Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who has been caught exposing himself and even masturbating inside area tanning salons.
One of the cases happened Baja Tans in Covington.
“He just came in, wanted to know about our packages, our specials, give him a little tour of our tanning beds,” says an employee who wishes to remain anonymous. She says things got weird, “When we were just talking about the spray tan and he just asked if he could show us some skin condition that he had and he just pulled out his private area.”
The incident happened over a month ago, yet the woman he exposed himself to is still too creeped out to talk on camera.
“I’ve had people show me areas, but its more females. You don’t expect it from a guy, you know, with just to be that comfortable with exposing himself to girls out of nowhere. We just didn’t know what was going to happen.”
Detectives describe the man as a white male, about 40-years-old, 5′ 8″, with a bald head.
They say he also visited Private Beach Tanning Salon in Mandeville where cameras caught him fondling himself behind the counter as he spoke to another female employee. Investigators say in this case he also eventually exposed himself.
“I don’t want anyone a victim, but especially myself.”
We’re told the man also visited a Mandeville boutique where he asked one of the women inside to try on clothes for him.
