NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Each year, the nation takes a day to honor those who serve and have served in our nation’s military. Many companies step up as well, with free goodies, discounts and deals for vets! Make sure to bring along your military ID.
Here’s a list of the best offers we found nationally and in Louisiana:
Little Caesars – Free Hot-N-Ready lunch combo from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Applebee’s – Free meal from a special menu and get a $5 coupon that can be redeemed Nov. 12-27.

Baskin-Robbins – For every ice cream scoop sold in the U.S., the company will donate 11 cents to United Service Organizations.
Chick-fil-A – From 5:00-8:00 pm Friday, active and retired military personnel, veterans, and their immediate families can receive one free specified Chick-fil-A meal. Valid ID or proof of service is required.
Outback Steakhouse – Free Bloomin’ Onion and a beverage. Outback also is offering active and former service members 15% off their meals and their families’ Nov. 12 through Dec. 31.
Buffalo Wild Wings – Free small order of traditional or boneless wings with a side of fries.

Chipotle – From 3 p.m. to close, all U.S. military, military spouses and veterans get a buy one get one free burrito, bowl, salad or tacos.
Chili’s – Free meal from a special menu.

Golden Corral – Veterans get a free beverage and buffet meal from 5-9 p.m. Nov. 14.
Gordon Biersch – Veterans and active military can head on over for a free appetizer
Hooters – This Veterans Day, diners with proof of service can choose a free entree from an exclusive Veteran’s Day menu. The menu includes wings, burgers, sandwiches, and other Hooters favorites.
Home Depot – This year, Home Depot is honoring Veterans Day with two specials:
A free Build a Veteran’s Day Jet workshop for kids ages 5 -12. The event runs from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., and includes a craft, certificate of achievement, workshop apron, and commemorative pin while supplies last.
A 10% discount on purchases.

IHOP – In honor of the holiday, veterans and active duty members get a stack of Red, White and Blue pancakes. Proof of service required.
Krystal – At participating locations, veterans can grab a free sausage biscuit
LongHorn Steakhouse – Free appetizer or dessert to anyone showing proof of military service. In addition, LongHorn Steakhouse will offer 10% off for guests who dine with veterans.
Lowe’s – On November 11, all veterans and their family can receive 10% off purchases.

National Park Service – All visitors receive free admission to National Parks.
National World War II Museum- Join us as we say thank you to all our vets, who will receive free general admission to the Museum. WWII veterans receive free admission every day to Museum exhibit galleries, Beyond All Boundaries, and Final Mission: USS Tang Submarine Experience.
Olive Garden – Veterans and active duty service members get a free entree.
PJ’s Coffee – Free cup of our Original Cold Brew™ iced coffee or a cup of our hot coffee to any active duty military or veterans
Red Lobster – Veterans and active duty military can visit to get a free appetizer or dessert on November 10 and 11.
