NEW ORLEANS – One of the New Orleans streets currently named after a Confederate General will soon get a name change.
On January 1, Jefferson Davis Parkway will officially be re-named Norman C. Francis Parkway.
Dr. Francis was the longtime president of Xavier University, and he’s a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Many faculty and staff use the road to get to the university.
