MANDEVILLE, La. (WGNO) – Republican incumbent Pat Brister will remain the St. Tammany Parish president for the next four years.

Brister beat fellow Republican Karen Champagne and no party candidates L. Kevin Coleman and Margie Vicknair-Pray in a landslide election Saturday night.

Brister was the favorite to win.  She collected more than 70% of the vote Saturday night, a number that nearly matched recent polling statistics that showed the voters of the parish approve of her work.

“72 percent of the people in St. Tammany think we’re in the right place or going in the right direction,” Brister told WGNO News.  “Then you’re going to get a lot of positive feedback.”
