NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – The homeless need a Christmas tree?

Some homeless people in New Orleans are keeping the spirit of Christmas alive even in the hardest of times. On Tuesday, a WGNO viewer spotted a Christmas tree by a tent underneath the Pontchartrain Expressway near Oretha Castle Haley Blvd.

On Wednesday, the Christmas tree had lights. And on Thursday, it had a bow as a tree topper.

On Friday morning, all the tents and the Christmas tree were removed from underneath the highway and pushed to the edge of the road. We called NOPD for a comment, but they have not returned our phone call at the writing of this post.
