SLIDELL, La. (WGNO) – Teacher and coach Daniel Hanlon died Sunday in a single vehicle crash in St. Tammany Parish.

The 31-year-old was with life-long friend and Slidell police officer, John Cole, when Cole’s car went off the road and flipped.

Cole remains in a coma and is listed in critical condition.

Hanlon will be laid to rest Thursday September 11th.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, 910 Cross Gates Blvd., Slidell, LA, for visitation starting at 1 p.m. A catholic mass will follow, starting at 4 p.m.

Both Cole and Hanlon are alumni of Salmen High School.
