UPDATE: Orleans Parish Coroner Jefferey Rouse said the woman whose body was found in a lagoon in Audubon Park Monday was possibly homeless and died from drowning. Officials haven’t released her name.

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison Harrison says that there is no evidence to suggest foul play in the death of a woman who’s body was found in a lagoon on Monday morning, but declined any other comment on the case.

The body, which has not been identified, is that of a woman between the ages of 40 and 50 years old.

According to investigators, she had been in the lagoon several hours when she died.
